Canada’s electricity system is generally stable and has a high share of non-emitting generation, but residential users can still experience temporary outages caused by freezing rain, high winds, wildfires, heat waves and extreme cold. At the same time, the growing adoption of electric vehicles, heat pumps and other electrified household equipment is expected to increase electricity demand and place greater importance on flexible, reliable home energy management.
To strengthen household energy resilience, Cosuper Energy delivered a 15kWh residential energy storage system for a home in Canada. The system can store surplus solar energy for use during the evening, periods of high household demand or unexpected grid interruptions, helping reduce dependence on grid electricity while maintaining power for essential household loads. Its modular battery design enables flexible capacity expansion, while the wide 60–450V PV input range supports adaptable solar configurations and simplifies future system upgrades.
With intelligent battery management, a compact wall-mounted installation and a maintenance-friendly modular structure, the solution provides a safe, stable and practical pathway toward greater residential energy independence. The project also reflects Canada’s broader transition toward a cleaner and more reliable electricity system, supported by federal policies encouraging renewable energy, grid modernization and energy-storage deployment.
